Sikorsky Challenge startups competition will be held in October

On October 10-13, 2017, the VI International Festival of Innovation Projects Sikorsky Challenge will be held. As informed on the website of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the purpose of competition is to identify the most interesting and the most pressing projects in various technological fields and to help the winners to commercialize their developments. The festival is being organized by the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”, Science Park “Kyivska Polytechnika” and Innovation Ecosystem “Sikorsky Challenge”.

Professionals and innovators in the field of engineering and design, students, graduate students, researchers having innovative ideas or ready-made projects, as well as representatives of large investment business may compete. Competitioners shall participate in training in preparation of project presentation to investors and in range of personal meetings that will be held by competition organizers to make their presentations finalized. Finalists will receive package of services from Innovative Ecosystem “Sikorsky Challenge” including: “turn-key” startup preparation for the investment, access to international experts and advices of successful mentors, direct access to investors and business angels, as well as legal support in agreements concluding with investors.

Only completed and fully ready for commercialization projects (independently prepared scientific and scientific research projects that have applied relevance, may be released for production or applied in economic activities) are allowed to compete.

Deadline for the acceptance of competition applications – August 15, 2017.

While considering the applications, preference will be given to engineering projects in the fields as follows:

  1. Agricultural sector.
  2. High-tech machine manufacturing.
  3. Military-industrial complex.
  4. Power engineering.
  5. Efficient environmental management.
  6. Information and telecommunication technologies.
  7. Space technologies.
  8. Robotics.
  9. Creation of new substances and materials, nanotechnologies.

Proposals shall be prepared pursuant to the standard set by the competition organizers. Requirements for execution of application are posted on the website of the competition.
