Tenders for the supplies to the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) were won by two Ukrainian manufactures, Ukrinform reports.
This was reported by Boris Grinyov, the representative of Ukraine at CERN, at the opening of exhibition on the occasion of the anniversary of our country’s membership in the organization. Thus, the Institute for Scintillation Materials of the National Academy of Sciences will supply plastic scintillators for strategic studies. Led Technology Ukraine LLC will supply micro-cables using unique technology, manufacturing of which was set up specifically for the European organization.
Tender supplies will be performed in 2017–2018. The total amount of contracts has reached CHF 550 thous. It shall be noted that CERN is also interested in metal goods, manufactured in Ukraine.
In the meantime, Liliya Hrynevych, Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, said that Ukraine’s annual contribution for associated participation in CERN is CHF 1 mln, but this allows Ukrainian scientists to conduct researches using the purpose-built equipment in Switzerland and this almost completely justifies the such expenses.
